9 Dots Sikku Kolam || Simple Mellika Muggulu || Small Rangoli

This is 9-1 straight dot pattern. I have done some detailing work to make it bit appealing and coloured with pink and red in centre. A close to my heart kolam. A simple kolam without much tangles. And the colours used are home made, have added rice flour with food colour. I have tried to enhance with extensions with some lines and twirls. I have coloured the centre space with colours to bring out a pinwheel design and was successful to some extend. This kolam has been done on my previous home entrance. The entrance was big enough to maneuver around and was comfortable to draw kolams by moving around. But now the entrance is small to draw big kolams...

This kolam can be extended to a big kolam, I will try to extend and draw in near future. This is a five lines kolam. The first line which runs in the outer dots. The next four lines enclosed within the outer sikku strand. An easy kolam for a beginner to try. Many hesitate to attempt a sikku kolam for its complicity, in fact a sikku kolam is very easy to draw if you get the concept of the sikku strand.
